Man Robbed on Rodwell Trail Wakes Up in Undergrowth
6:13pm 27th November 2013
A man’s woken up in a bush off the Rodwell Trail after being robbed of his money and mobile phone.
The incident happened during the early hours on Monday morning (25th October) near to the bridge on Buxton Road.
The 38 year old victim, who suffered a minor head injury, had to be helped out of the undergrowth by a pedestrian 10 hours later.
Detective Constable Tony O'Connell, of Weymouth CID, said: "I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with information about this incident to contact Dorset Police in confidence as soon as possible.
"It is believed the victim has been knocked unconscious for a number of hours before being found by a member of the public.
"He would have been highly visible in day light on this well used route and I am keen to hear from anyone who walked that stretch of the Rodwell Trail on Monday 25 November before the victim was found at 2pm.
"I am also very keen to hear from anyone who may have seen an incident take place, or may have details of how the victim sustained a head injury and had personal items stolen.
"He has no recollection of the incident, and is unable to provide any description of a possible offender.
"All calls will be treated in confidence."
