Residents and visitors to West Dorset will also still be able to enjoy free Sunday parking in all district-run car parks in Dorchester, Bridport, Beaminster and Sherborne.
Free overnight parking in all West Dorset District Council- run car parks will remain.
Councillors agreed to bring charges (including season tickets) for Middle and Little Fairfield Car Park in Dorchester in line with the Top o' Town Car Park in Dorchester and to set the minimum long-stay all-day parking charge at £2 in all other West Dorset District Council-run car parks.
West Dorset District Council Leader Cllr Robert Gould said: "This is good news for shoppers, local residents and visitors. We are committed to supporting businesses and keeping our town centres prosperous. We now have some of the cheapest parking on the south coast.
"The district council continues to explore new ways of creating a more anxiety-free shopping/visitor experience to encourage people to stay longer in towns and coastal resorts."
