Appeal Launched After Dangerous Driving In Weymouth

Police in Weymouth are looking for witnesses to reports of dangerous driving in Wyke Regis.

It happened around 10am in the morning on Saturday 14th December.

A grey or silver Vauxhall Astra was seen in Merley Road, Derwent Road and Dumbarton Road before allegedly making off at speed towards Rylands Lane.

Police Constable James Vincent, of Weymouth police, said: "I am appealing for any witnesses to the manner of driving of the vehicle or anyone who can identify the Vauxhall Astra to contact Dorset Police.

"I would especially like to hear from the members of the public who assisted officers at the scene."

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and a 40-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent as well as driving offences.

Both men are from the Weymouth area and have been released on bail until the end of January pending further enquiries.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 14:171.
