If you're looking for something for the family to do between now and the New Year then Dorset's on-line directory might have the answer.

The county council's Family Information Service offers support to parents and carers of children aged 0-19 (or up to age 25 for young people with a disability.)

Councillor Rebecca Knox, who represents Beaminster, and is the Cabinet member for children's Safeguarding and families at Dorset County Council says:

"Dorset has a variety of fun activities happening throughout the festive period for children and young people to enjoy. By using our online directory, you can see what's on in your local area or search for a particular activity.

We know that Christmas can also be a difficult time for some families so our Family Information Service can also point you towards help with childcare costs, access to support groups and other local services."
