Hardy Students Climb Ben Nevis Height In Weymouth

9:20am 4th January 2014

Students from Thomas Hardye School will be attempting to climb a height the equivalent of Ben Nevis today, but in Weymouth Harbour.

They're taking part in a sponsored mast climb on board the Tall Ship Pelican.

The youngsters need to raise £26,000 to take part in the Tall Ships Race this year from Norway to the Netherlands.

The ship is currently anchored near the Ferry offices and we're being encouraged to go along this morning and support the youngsters.

The mast is 33 meters high and Ben Nevis is 1,340 meters.

The ship is also open to visitors who would like a look around.
