A man caught carrying a large amount of drugs in Dorchester has been sent to jail.

Matthew Henwood from Liverpool was stopped by Officers in the County Town October last year (2013)

The drugs in his possession had the street value of £100,000. Cash was also found concealed in his car.

Police Constable James Prowse, of Dorchester police, said: "This sentence sends a clear message to those who seek to profit from crime.

"We believe that this arrest and conviction has disrupted the flow of drugs in to the area.

"These crimes will not be tolerated in Dorset and we will actively seek to arrest and send offenders through the criminal justice system."

30-year-old Henwood pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine at Dorchester Crown Court and was jailed for 3 years.
