Crime Victims Prepare To Tell Their Stories

It's hoped stories from people who've fallen victim to crime in Dorset will help the Police improve their support procedures.

A special forum for them to share their experiences is being hosted by Dorset PCC Martyn Underhill tonight (Thursday 23rd January).

The Police will use the feedback to look at ways they can better help victims in the future.

PCC Underhill is passionate about helping people who've suffered an injustice.

"In my last forum, one of those people who told me their story I took to the Chief Constable and they had a face to face meeting. As a result a change has taken place inside Dorset Police and in other agencies. These forums are a really good way of giving me a flavour of what's going wrong so I can deal with it."

"Cutting crime means less victims so everything for me is about victims and we really need to get better at supporting them."

Tonight's meeting is at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester.
