(Updated 12:11pm 27th January 2014)

Victims of the Holocaust and genocides around the world are being remembered today at a memorial service in Weymouth.

It's being held at the  Princess Diana Gardens in Radipole Park Drive, hosted by the Mayor of Weymouth and Portland, Cllr Ray Banham.

They’ll also be prayers and readings led by the Mayor's Chaplain, Reverend Pip Salmon.

Members of the public are invited to attend the service, starting at the Holocaust Memorial Tree at 10.30am.

Holocaust Memorial Day is the annual day of remembrance for the victims and survivors, with January 27th 1945 being the day the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp was liberated.
