Work Starts To Rebuild Battered Beaches
7:42am 29th January 2014
Rebuilding our battered beaches along the Dorset coast is getting underway.
Routine annual harbour dredging at Lyme Regis starts today, moving on to West Bay in around a week's time with the sand recovered being returned to our coastline after the winter winds and wet weather.
Work is dependent on tides and weather conditions but West Dorset District Council say they'll try to avoid carrying out dredging at night.
Any noise disruption will be kept to a minimum, but they are apologising in advance for any disruption.
