Weymouth And Portland Told To Prepare For Flooding

Strong winds and high waves are expected to batter the Dorset coast again tonight.

Preston Beach Road in Weymouth will close at 8pm this evening until midnight due to a risk of flooding.

Residents along Weymouth seafront at Chelmsford St, Crescent St, Derby St, and Stanley St have been told to be prepared.

Flooding is expected at:

Albert Street, Brownlow Street, Stuarts Ct, Brunswick Terrace, Chelmsford Street, Crescent Street, Derby Street, Hardwick Street, King Street, Lennox Street, Park Street, Penny Street, Queen Street, Ranelagh Rd, Stanley St and Walpole St in Weymouth tonight and tomorrow morning.  

And in Chiswell on Portland the same advice has been given for; Brandy Row, Pebble Lane, Victoria Road up to the junction with Queens Road, the car park and the Depot.

High tide is around 10pm tonight and again at 10.15am tomorrow morning
