Elderly Couple Finally Have Home Phone Line Reconnected

11:21am 12th February 2014

Yesterday we told you about an elderly couple in Abbotsbury who've been left without a home phone line for nearly 3 weeks.

Wessex Water had accidently damaged the phone cables and despite talking to BT every day Gillian Kelsey wasn't getting anywhere.

That was until we ran the story on Wessex FM and contacted BT ourselves - and Gillian gave us a call this morning with some good news.

"As we went down the road yesterday morning, their were BT vans everywhere, they were up the poll, and we were back on by last night, and I'm sure its all down to you."

Gillian and Wessex Water had been putting pressure on BT to get the problem fixed;

"I told them that my husband's got very bad emphysema and I have a heart condition.  They say we were top priority - but all we've done is phone them and phone them.  And its still not fixed."

"If my husband is taken ill and I need to call a doctor out in the night I will have to go to a neighbours and use their phone."

Gillian would also like to thank Wessex Water for their support.
