Drivers are being urged not to get caught out by trying to cut through Abbotsbury.
Wessex Water are in the final stages of work to fix aging water mains in the village.
They're now working in West Street, which is a bottle neck and the road is fully closed, and will remain so for 2 weeks.
A full diversion route is in place and traffic will use the A35 and A354 as an alternative.
But Wessex Water say some people still think they can use Abbotsbury as a cut through and are getting stuck.
Businesses in the village are still open us usual and remain accessible to everyone.
Wessex Water's design engineer Alan Marler said: "Work is progressing well on site and we would like to thank everyone for their patience while we continue to work in the village.
"We realise that due to the nature of the work there will be some inconvenience caused but we will do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum.
"We would also like to remind everyone that businesses in the village remain open as usual."
