Tucker the Tortoise FOUND in Weymouth!!

Tucker

(Updated 5:42pm 10th March 2014)

Tucker the missing tortoise has been found safe and well nearly half a year on, after vanishing in Weymouth.

Back in October last year (2013) we brought you a story about a woman’s desperate plea for thieves to return her reptile after she thought someone had stolen it from her garden in Bowleaze Cove.

Tucker is a 70 year old tortoise and its owner was entrusted to look after it by a close friend. She searched her garden and greenhouse high and low but her efforts were fruitless.

6 months on, and Tucker has been found safe and well in the owners garden where she vanished from last autumn.

It's believed Tucker went underground and into hibernation only to reappear today just in time for some better weather.

It's owner has thanked Dorset Police and members of the public who helped in the original search the old reptile.
