Pirate Ship Interference on Wessex FM Breakfast Show

Pirate Radio Station

7:38am 1st April 2014

Wessex FM would like to apologise this morning for interruptions to our normal broadcasting.

An illegal pirate radio station is interfering with our output.

The ship is operating from Weymouth Bay.

We've reported the matter to officials and have made a formal complaint and would like to apologise to our listeners.

We've received this statement from Mike April from the Illegal broadcasting unit.

"We are of course taking this matter very seriously.

We're currently looking into how this pirate radio ship is able to broadcast and interfere with programming on Wessex FM.

There will be a full investigation and the appropiate authorities will take action."
