Community Centre Broken Into On Portland

Dorset Police Car

12:50pm 9th April 2014

Thieves have targeted another business on Portland, this time the Community Centre in Easton.

Police say the break in happened between Friday the 28th March and the following Monday.

They got into the building but nothing was taken.

Fancy's Farm on Portland was also targeted over the same weekend, thieves smashed a window and stole a quantity of cash.

Police Constable Adam Bayliss, of Weymouth Police, said:

"I would urge anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area to come forward as soon as possible.

"Anyone with information that can assist the investigation is asked to contact the police in confidence.

"I would like to remind people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 31:74. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
