Dozens Of Dorchester Workers Trained To Save Lives

24 town centre workers in Dorchester have been giving life-saving first aid training.
The staff from local shops and businesses went on a course which was subsidised by Dorchester BID.
The workshops were co-sponsored by Everycare Wessex and looked at techniques including CPR and how to deal with choking.
Trainer Dave Foster said "We started doing these courses of our fellow Dorchester businesses last year as a result of an approach from DBID. We were delighted to be able to help and its such a great opportunity to spread some basic skills that might actually save a life or make a difference to someone having the misfortune to be taken ill or have an accident in town"
Phil Gordon DBID project Director comments "Dorchester is already a very pleasant and safe town to come visiting or to regularly shop in, but now we have a really impressive number of first aider's in town and qualified Defib operators, I think its rather nice to have the peace of mind knowing that if someone got into difficulties in town, there is a very strong network of support around to help."
