Youngsters Eyeing Up Skatepark Comp in Dorchester!

8:15am 15th April 2014

Dorchester's Skatepark Jam will this year act as a qualifier for a prestigious national competition.

Young skaters and BMX riders taking part in the event later this month will be vying for a place at the National Action Sports Show.

Geoff Else is a professional skater who runs skating and BMX holiday camps through his company Camp Rubicon.

He says its quite a scoop:

"That's a big deal for Dorchester, not a lot a parks can boast that.  I think there are only a handful of qualifies around the country and Dorchester has been chosen.  The scene down there is so good. Everyone is so fun and so happy.

You can meet Geoff and his team from Camp Rubicon at The Front Skatepark in Weymouth from 1pm this afternoon.

They're currently doing a 10 day tour of the UK's 40 indoor skate parks.
