Dorchester Nursing Homes In Administration.
7:45am 18th April 2014
Two Dorchester nursing homes have gone into administration.
Buyers are being sought got Greenbushes and Avenue House which are both on Weymouth Avenue.
Greenbushes has 42 beds and had been running for 9 years before it was closed in December by the owners, before joint Administrators Bob Maxwell and Julie Palmer were appointed of Dorchester Care LLP.
Avenue House has 33 beds and has also been running for 9 years.
Goldcare have been called in to take over running the facility while administrators try to find a buyer.
None of the 36 staff who work in Avenue House will be made redundant.
"Our key concern is ensuring that the care home continues to operate efficiently with the minimum of disruption to residents," explains Joint Administrator Bob Maxwell. "For this reason, we have appointed a specialist healthcare management company whom we know well, and which has vast experience of managing care homes in administration, to oversee the smooth running of Avenue House.
"We, together with Goldcare, are working closely with the relevant authorities to maintain stability and ensure the smooth-running of the care home while a buyer is sought for the business as a going concern."
Both properties are presently on the market for sale.
