Dorset County Hospital Looking for Outgoing Chief's Successor
8:34am 15th May 2014
Dorset County Hospital (DCH) needs a new boss!
Jean O'Callaghan, who joined the Trust in 2010, has quit her role as Chief executive at the Hospital's NHS Foundation Trust after being appointed CEO of the Royal Berkshire.
Hospital chairman Dr Jeffrey Ellwood wishes her well;
"Jean has made an outstanding contribution during her tenure as CEO and we are very sorry to see her go. We wish her every success in her new appointment."
Mrs O'Callaghan said the decision to leave Dorset County Hospital was tough;
"'It hasn't been an easy decision and I will leave with mixed feelings. Living and working in Dorset has been a great experience. It is a good hospital and has a bright future, playing a greater role in caring for people in community settings."
The Hospital is currently finalising arrangements for covering the post until we appoint a permanent replacement.
DCH has won a number of awards for good practice under Jean O'Callaghan's leadership.
