Warning Over Fake Police Magazine Scam

8:30am 19th June 2014

Con artists are trying to dupe local businesses into buying advertising space in a magazine they claim is connected to Dorset Police.

They've been alerted to the scam by a number of calls from potential victims.

Dorset Police say they would never call you to ask for money and officers would always be able to identify themselves.

They should always be able to give you their name, their job title and their contact details.  So you will be able to call them back through the main police switchboard on 01305 222 222.

They're urging us not to part with our cash, and not to give out any personal details.

They would also like to hear from you, if you've received a phone call like this.  Contact Dorset Police on 101.
