8:40am 25th June 2014

People with disabilities are being given the chance to experience life out on the water.

Two new dinghies have been donated to Chesil Sailability at Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy.

Both boats have been named in memory of local man Rod Shipley and have been donated by his wife.

Hugh de Longh is Chair of Chesil Sailability.  He says they'll offer life changing experiences.

"These boats we can adopts them so people with very severe disabilities can sail them, so they can have a freedom on the water, that they don't get out on land."
