Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a green Ford Focus was found on fire in a car park in Weymouth.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a green Ford Focus was found on fire in a car park in Weymouth.

The fire is being treated as an alleged arson attack.

It happened on Friday 27th June at around 4.17pm when in a communal car park in Douglas Road.

Police Constable Andrew Thomson, of Weymouth CID, said: "This was a very upsetting incident for the victim and caused a significant amount of damage to the car. I urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time to come forward."

A 33 year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of arson and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
