Dorset Pathology Fight Gains Momentum

Lee Rhodes and Claudia Sorin Path Lab

(Updated 10:48am 11th July 2014)

7:44am 11th July 2014

The fight to stop the privatisation of the Pathology Lab at Dorset County Hospital that could lead to test delays for cancer patients is gaining futher support.

The Dorset Health Campaign have over 4,000 signatures to keep the Pathology lab as it is, and they're now asking GP's to display the petition on their reception desks across the county. The Health Campaign say they are writing to GPs across South and West Dorset so members of the public can state their support for NHS run services, rather than [CLIP]profit based services.

This comes after worries that the privitisation would lead to test result delays for cancer sufferers in Dorset.

The Dorset Health Campaign are hoping that by gaining support from GPs an added pressure will be put on the hospital management.
