On-Line Purchase Warning

Trading Standards officers in Dorset are warning about the potentuial dangers of buying goods on-line.

It follows the successful prosecution of three people, one Dorchester and the others from Charlton Down for selling counterfeit Pandora beads.

All three were fined by Weymouth Magistrates this week.

Roger John Loriot(51) of Meech Way, Charlton Down, was fined £ 250 + £ 775.80 costs and a £ 25 victim surcharge. Deborah Reed (51) also of Meech Way, was fined £ 130 + £ 775.80 and a £ 25 victim surcharge.
Gail Crutchell (50) of Holmead Walk, Dorchester ws fined £ 160 with £ 1112.80 cocts with a victim surcharge of £ 20.

County council spokesman Neil Martin said 'Generally if the price is too good to be true there is a reason for this. Not only do you run the risk of buying counterfit goods but on occassions these can be potentially dangerous.'
