A pub in rural West Dorset 's nearing its fundraising target to buy potentially life-saving equipment .
Fundraising at the White Horse at Litton Cheney, between Dorchester and Bridport has been going on since Val Woods became landlady there around 9 months ago.
Customers thought raising money to buy a defibrillator may be a good idea because they're in a small community where ambulances can take a while to arrive.
Val says the area's also a favourite for cyclists and walkers.
They've raise over £900 towards their target through fundraising and a donation from the parish council.
Val says the eventual cost could be up to £1500, but they might be able to get a discount on the overall cost.
She says she'd like to have the defribulator in place before the winter weather sets in.
