Council Looking For New Crossing Patrols

School Crossing

9:02am 6th August 2014

If you've ever fancied supporting your local school by becoming a lollipop man or lady, now's your chance.

Dorset County Council is looking for new relief school crossing patrols to replace their retiring members of staff.

The new staff will cover for permanent members of staff when they are unable to work.

The council's senior road technician Rob Camp told us that the role is likely to appeal to those who are 'semi-retired', or just have a little time on their hands and don't mind working on an ad-hoc basis.

"We are looking for more relief staff that can either cover just one school or several schools over a larger area.

The more casual staff we have on our books, the more likely we are able to cover our school crossing patrol sites.'
