Appeal following Disappearance of Wimborne Man

David Button

11:45am 8th August 2014
(Updated 12:41pm 8th August 2014)

Police are asking people to look out for a missing man who left his home in Wimborne for a walk and never returned.

54-year-old David Button was last seen at a home address in the St Leonards area at 3pm yesterday (7th August) by his son, he was then reported missing just after 10pm that day.

Police say David left a note to say he was going for a walk, and that he does enjoy hiking and walking down coastal paths. He didn't take any possessions or his car.

Force Incident Commander, Debbie Marsden, said: "David's disappearance is out of character.

"Everyone who knows him is very worried and would like to find him as soon as possible.

"Officers, including dog units, are presently conducting an extensive search of the surrounding area.

"I ask anyone who knows the whereabouts of David, or David himself, to make contact with someone - we just need to know that you are safe and well.

"Anyone with information should contact the police urgently on 101."

David is described as white, around six feet tall and of slim build. He has short grey hair, is clean shaven and was last seen wearing a dark blue polo shirt, dark tracksuit trousers and Salomon walking trainers.
