Puppies Dumped in Bere Regis

Puppies RSPCA

8:15am 9th August 2014
(Updated 1:17pm 9th August 2014)

The RSPCA and Piddle Valley Vets are currently caring for two small puppies after they were dumped on the doorstep of a police officer's house in Bere Regis.

Two other puppies were in the cage at the time; one of which had died in the cage, with the other lurcher not making it through the night.

The animal welfare organisation now wants any information on who left the animals and why and is encouraging anyone with any information to call the appeal line on 0300 123 8018.

RSPCA inspector Graham Hammond said:  "To dump such small and defenceless animals in this way is despicable.  They were just given no chance and it is lucky that they were left on the doorstep of such a caring family, otherwise they may have all died."

The surviving puppies are being cared for by the RSPCA, and the officer is planning to adopt them when they have recovered.
