Tourists visiting Dorset can now access local information on the go with a new mobile website.

It's been launched by the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership.

The new design was developed by website specialist New Mind | tellUs and adapts to all screen sizes, with easy to use navigation.

The mobile site features over 600 tourism businesses across Dorset and it allows people to find attractions, restaurants and book accommodation on their smartphones or tablets.

Nick Thornley, West Dorset District Council and Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Economy, Leisure & Tourism Manager, on behalf of the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership said "The visit-dorset.com website has achieved over 1.7 million visits in the last 12 months and 40 per cent of these visitors viewed the website via a mobile device.

"We felt it was vital to invest in the mobile website in recognition to the growing trend in mobile browsing. This is just another step in highlighting Dorset as a leading visitor destination.

"With the bank holiday weekend fast approaching there is no better time to check out the new website on your mobile device and plan a fun packed weekend in Dorset."

To view the website, go to www.visit-dorset.com on your mobile device.
