Fashion Show For Opening of New Mencap Shop in Dorchester
12:36pm 28th August 2014
National Citizen Service Students are holding a charity fashion show this evening from 6.30pm at the Dorford centre to help raise funds for the new Mencap shop in Dorchester.
The students developed the unique idea of using a fashion show to advertise the new charity shop's clothes after meeting with the organisation.
Students and members of the public will be doing the modelling and all the clothes, which have been donated will be for sale.
Lisa Dixon, one of the NCS leaders, said: "Everything has been donated. We did a car boot sale on Sunday and everyhing we used there had been donated from different charity shops and different members of the communuity.
"On the day that we did the car boot, we ended up coming away with even more stuff. Everybody who was at the car boot handed in their stuff that they didnt sell so we've got an abundance of clothes to get rid of - there's lots of good stuff."
As well as enjoying fashion you can also eat cake and a have a dance at the disco. A donation of £2 is suggested and for more details call 01305 262 045.
