Dorset Police Hunt Jewellery Thieves

Dorset Police Car At Night

3:26pm 23rd September 2014

Officers in Purbeck are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a burglary in Lytchett Matravers.

The burglary happened some time between 8.00am and 12.35pm on Wednesday 17 September 2014 at premises on Landers Reach.

While the occupants were out, burglars removed a fence panel to gain entry to the rear garden before forcing a ground floor window to gain access to the property. The whole house was searched and a large amount of jewellery and an ipad mini were stolen.

Police Constable Mari Montgomery, of Purbeck police, said: “This is an extremely distressing crime for the victims.

“The stolen jewellery has a great sentimental value.

“I would urge anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area, in particular in Foxhills Road, to come forward as soon as possible.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered jewellery or a white ipad mini for sale in strange circumstances or for an unusually low price.

“Anyone with information that can assist the investigation is asked to contact the police in confidence.

“I would like to remind all residents to be vigilant and to report any concerns by calling 101.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 17:214. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
