Have Your Say On 20mph Speed Limit For Westham

Speedwatch

2:29pm 24th September 2014

People living in Westham in Weymouth are being asked if they want the speed limit lowered to 20mph in the area.

Dorset County Council are holding a drop-in event at St Pauls Church Hall on Abbotsbury Road tomorrow from 2:30pm-7pm and then again on October 2nd at Weymouth Community Safety Centre.

It comes after years of local campaigning to reduce speed limits on narrow roads there from the "20 Is Plenty Movement".

Westham County Councillor David Harris says "We are a busy community with two schools as well as other community facilities, and I'm sure there are particular roads where people don't feel safe as they could."

A County Council survey found more than 95% of people in Westham are in favour of the new speed limits.
