Completely out of place and totally inappropriate for an area of outstanding natural beauty.
That's how one resident has described the County Council's plans for a much needed school at West Lulworth.
Nicholas Cole who lives near the current primary isn't impressed with the design.
"It looks like a shed which you would find on a retail park or an industrial estate, and nothing which is in keeping with the village of West Lulworth with its Purbeck Stone and Thatched roofs."
He says Dorset County Council has chosen not to redevelop the current school despite on offer by the Weld Estate to sell them land around the site.
"Somebody said at the Purbeck planning committee if I came along to you and said I wanted to build a couple of industrial units on a green field site in an area of outstanding natural beauty what would you say? And the planning committee said we would laugh you out of the room. And yet Dorset County Council are going ahead and doing exactly that."
