Police Step Up Patrols In Weymouth

A crackdown on street drinking and anti-social behaviour is starting today in Weymouth.

Operation Bear will see enhanced police patrols on the streets.

It will last until the 27th October.

A similar operation ran in August, which saw more police on the streets for two weeks, during the height of summer.

PCSO Dave Hill told Wessex FM what they would like people to do if they see this drink fuelled trouble taking place;

He said; "Please call us on the 101 number and let us know because we can direct our patrols to that area. But also it's very important when people call us, if they can say what they see and particular descriptions of individuals so we target those individuals and deal effectively with that problem."
