Poppy Appeal Lauched In Dorset Today

Poppy Day 1

8:35am 23rd October 2014

It's been a symbol of remembrance and hope for the last 100 years - and today sees the launch of the Poppy Appeal in Dorset.

Last year the county raised over £600,000 to help the lives of service men, women, veterans and their loved ones.

The message this year behind the appeal is 'Live On' - to the memory of the fallen and the future of the living.

This year is particularly poignant as it marks the Centenary of the First World War.

The Royal British legion say it's as important as ever to wear a poppy and remember the sacrifices and commitment made by our Armed Forces both then and now.
