Nominations Open For Weymouth BID Directors

weymouth BID

(Updated 9:09am 7th November 2014)

9:08am 7th November 2014

Time's running out if you're a Weymouth business and you want to have your say on the town's future.

Weymouth BID, which started last year after the majority of local businesses voted for it, has six director spaces on the board available.

Nigel Reed, Manager of the town's bid, explains what they're looking for, "You need people who've got retail skills, you need people who've got event management skills, you need people that have probably got management skills, IT skills, but it's actual the general thing that you're all working in the same general direction."

Nigel also told us some of the main projects the BID had worked on in its first year, "The events, which is what people tend to see, have been successful, they've worked well, and what we try to say to people is, 'Look, these are growing events, this is about keeping them sustainable, expanding them, making them become an established event. Outside of that we've put a lot of money in to promoting Weymouth outside of the area."

Deadline for nominations is this Monday at 6pm (10th November), for more info head to our website.

The Annual General Meeting of the Weymouth BID is taking place on Tuesday 18th November at The Royal Hotel, The Esplanade, Weymouth. Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start. The meeting will end at 7.30pm.
