Palmers Brewery have submitted a full planning application to West Dorset District Council for The Three Cups in Lyme Regis.

An historic Dorset hotel, rumoured to have played host to Jane Austin and J R. R. Tolkien, is in line for a £6 Million redevelopment.

Palmers Brewery have submitted a full planning application to West Dorset District Council for The Three Cups in Lyme Regis.

The hotel's been closed for over twenty years and the new plans include conservation and renovation of the Three Cups building fronting on to Broad Street, a restaurant, a shop, an access path through to Langmoor Gardens, nine residential units, car parking and twelve letting rooms.

Palmers will find out if they have been successful in getting planning permission in Spring 2015. Building is likely to take 18 months, and Palmers say it will be planned so as to cause minimum disruption to the town. They're aiming to have the scheme open in 2017.
