Donate Your Winter Fuel If You Don't Need It

Around 500 people a year die in Dorset from the cold so as part of their fourth Surviving Winter Campaign, Dorset Community Foundation are asking for extra help.

With the majority of those dying being over 65, they're trying to raise awareness and raise money for the elderly and vulnerable residents of our County who struggle to keep warm.

Leonnie Prangnell from the charity said: "We at Dorset Community Foundation are asking those who receive a winter fuel allowance however don't necessarily need it, to donate it to the appeal in order for us to recycle the winter fuel payment to a resident in need.

We will also be encouraging those who would like to make a general donation to the campaign, to do so."
