10:05am 11th November 2014

Dorset's Learning Drivers and Driving Instructors have been revving up support and funds for Children In Need.

They've been taking part in 'The Big Learner Relay' which is a nationwide relay that drove in Dorchester yesterday before gearing up for the next stage of the journey to Yeovil.

Wessex FM spoke with Louise Walsh who organised the event about how much they've raised.

She said: "We had a target of £5,000 and last night we heard we had hit £23,500 so we're doing great with five days to go."

The learner drivers had travelled from Blandford to Dorchester in this stage of the relay, which then set off to Yeovil.

The relay has been on the road since 30th October that started off from Belfast and will makes it's way down to Cornwall before finishing in Birmingham this Saturday (15th Nov).
