Low Energy Christmas Lights Appeal

The Christmas Decorators

10:55am 11th November 2014

As fears grow about how the national grid might cope with an energy crisis, Dorset residents are being asked to switch to low energy Christmas lights.

The Christmas Decorators recently opened a new office in Dorset and are urging the public to be energy efficient during the festive period to help ease pressure on the National Grid.

They say doing small things will make a big difference like how just one plug can power 2.8 kilometres of low energy lights.

Managing Director David Britton said: "The National Grid has been under fire the past few days amid fears it cannot support rising demands for energy, especially if we are hit by a cold winter, as seems likely.

"In either case, switching to energy efficient lights this Christmas is better for the environment.

We are keen to show people decorating their homes and businesses for Christmas that switching to low energy bulbs doesn't mean you have to lose the sparkle of your festive display. It's all about using energy efficiently."
