March Highlighting Domestic Abuse In Weymouth

Published at 8:03am 22nd November 2014.

It's a growing problem in our county and many people aren't even aware of it - so campaigners are marching in Weymouth today to highlight the problem of domestic abuse.

The demonstration is starting at 4:15pm outside Debenhams and its being organised by You First who help those who are suffering from this kind of abuse.

They will also be releasing 107 White Balloons in remembrance of the victims who lost their lives to Domestic Abuse in 2013.

Manager Katie O'Connell: "We hope to achieve that people realise that domestic violence is going on in our community. If you know somebody who is experiencing it or if you're experiencing it yourself that you're not on your own and actually people are standing up to it."

For more information call You First on 0800 032 5204.
