New Charity Appeals For Old Laptops And Tablets

Computer

8:33am 25th November 2014

A new charity is looking to help isolated carers in Dorset by using technology to get them back in touch with the rest of the community.

Dorset Computers 4 Carers is asking us to donate our old laptops or tablets, which they'll give to carers along with training so they can use them confidently.

In our increasingly digital world, the charity feels this kind of help will become an invaluable comfort for those most in need.

They are working in partnership with Dorset County Council through the Dorset Carers Support Project Fund, and they're also trying to raise funds through local events.

They will replace the hard drive, so that no data can be transferred but they can't take devices if they're more than five years old.

If you can help please contact Anne or Christine Edwards on 07931 804999, e-mail aedwards@btinternet.com or Jen Nicholson j_nicholson_uk@yahoo.co.uk.
