Concern For Healthcare Services

A group campaigning for health services in Dorset are expressing their concern after a new company was given a contract to review local services.
Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group gave a £2.75m consultancy contract to Management Consultancy McKinsey for this wide-ranging review that includes Dorset County and Community Hospitals.
But Dorset Health Campaign is worried about the choice of company after McKinsey proposed massive cuts to services elsewhere in the country.
A spokesman for the Campaign group said: "We could be looking at the dismantling of Health Provision as we know it in Dorset."
"We find the choice of this consulting firm, which has a record of advising Governments on privatisation, to undertake the clinical services review, quite frankly alarming."
"Apart from anything else the cost of this review will be several millions at a time of supposed cuts and savings."
