Powerstock Primary In Christmas Decoration Exchange
8:53am 1st December 2014
A Primary School near Bridport who's building burnt to the ground are joining forces with a London School this Christmas.
Powerstock Primary, who rebuilt and reopened their school last year (2013), are working with Boutcher C of E Primary in Southwark to decorate the building.
The two schools will be swapping handmade Christmas decorations, based around hearts.
Powerstock Primary School's Headteacher, Jean Paul Draper, told us why they chose hearts as a theme, "When we reopened the school, we had rewritten the school prayer and in the school prayer there's a line which says 'We know that many stones make a building, and that many hearts make a school, and we thought it was an ideal thing to choose."
Jean Paul went on to explain; "It's really important for our children to get to know our country a bit better as well, so it's the perfect match. We decided we would do a couple of things, such as sending stories, and then it came to Christmas and we decided to swap Christmas decorations."
Two teachers from Powerstock will be heading up to the London school to swap the decorations this Friday (5th December).
