Business News - Double Award For Battens Solicitors
9:04am 1st December 2014
It's been a double victory for Dorset's Battens Solicitors after two of their legal eagles swooped to claim a prestigious double award.
Zara Davies grabbed the Cook's and Hatchard's Law Prize for the best newly qualified lawyer while Tracy Neal walked away with the Wessex Law Academy's Outstanding Achievement in exams award.
Solicitor Zara and Paralegal Tracy are both based in Batten's property department.
Zara, who specialises in residential conveyancing, said: "It was an honour to receive the award.
"Previous winners have come from bigger towns and cities, so it was tremendous to be recognised.
"My thanks go to the society's trustees as well as Battens, which creates an encouraging and supportive environment to help staff flourish."
Tracy is now in the final year of her Battens-sponsored, four-year study to qualify as a legal executive and CILEx Fellow.
She said: "After winning the year before last and this year, the pressure's now on for a hat-trick in 2015."
Battens chairman David Stephens said: "At Battens we pay great attention to recruiting the most talented and dedicated employees.
"Zara and Tracy are perfect examples of this. Both of the awards are richly deserved and our congratulations go to them both."
