We can enjoy the spectacle of Weymouth Victorian Shownight this afternoon, without having to worry about the pains of parking.

We'll be able to park in any of the council run car parks for free from 3pm this afternoon (5th December) and ALL day tomorrow (6th December) for Small Business Saturday.

Weymouth & Portland Borough Councillor Christine James said it's their way of giving the town a helping hand.

She explained: "We all know that everyone is short of money, short of cash and businesses are struggling. I think anything to support local businesses to make it a little bit better and easier for them has got to be good.”

"We're trying to do our bit basically."

It's hoped this latest initiative will attract more people into the town centre and help boost business.

Owner of The Fantastic Sausage Factory, Dennis Spurr has this advice for other local businesses who aren't situated in the middle of the town.

He said: "Get involved with everything. Come out and have a bit of fun! Life is not all about making money. If you have a bit of fun then actually the money comes along with it because people like to get involved with what you do.

"We're always busy mainly because we like having a bit of fun."
