Investigations are underway after more than 1,400 homes in Weymouth and Dorchester were left without power this morning.

A problem with the high voltage network caused the cut at just after 8am when Scottish and Southern Energy started working to fix the problem.

By 8:30am they had returned power to over 900 homes but hundreds of houses had to wait until 9:10am before the company managed to get to them.

They've now isolated the issue and are looking into what caused it.
