Paddington Bear Visits Dorset

paddington broadchurch

8:17am 10th December 2014

Hollywood's latest A-lister has been enjoying some of Dorset's best attractions.

Paddington Bear arrived in the county and so far the marmalade lover has built a sandcastle on Weymouth Beach and snapped a selfie at Portland Bill lighthouse.

Paddington has also discovered the many fine visitor attractions that Dorchester has to offer including the Keep Military Museum, Thomas Hardy's statue and the Teddy Bear Museum, where Paddington met his ancestors.

A visit to Dorset wouldn't be complete without a 'set jetting' trip to West Bay and Paddington took great delight in visiting the filming location of popular ITV drama Broadchurch.

The visit is part of VisitBritain's global media campaign to highlight Britain's best destination points for tourists on the back of the international release of the new Paddington film.

The Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership worked with VisitBritain to show the Peruvian visitor the best the county has to offer.

Nick Thornley, on behalf of the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership, said "We are delighted to welcome Paddington to Dorset and are thrilled to be working with VisitBritain on this engaging national campaign. Paddington's well known love of exploring new places makes him the perfect icon for inspiring visitors to discover all that is 'GREAT' about Dorset."
