Window Smashed And Jewellery Stolen From Dorchester House

Dorset Police Car At Night

Published at 8:01am 14th December 2014.

A house in Dorchester had its ground floor window smashed open before jewellery was stolen from the property.

The incident happened in Powys Close, Castle Park between 12 noon on 3rd December and 1:00pm on 6th December.

There were also burglaries in Broadmayne and Litton Cheney too and police are asking residents to take extra care when going on holiday this time of year.

They're advising people to consider using timer switches for lights rather than leaving the house in darkness and telling a trusted neighbour you're going away.

On one occasion recently, the offender was able to reach the key after breaking through the window so police are urging us to keep keys out of sight from windows and doors.

They're also asking if people see any suspicious activity to call 101 or if a crime is in progress then call 999.
