Furleigh Estate's Classic Curvee 2011 has been chosen as one of the ten best sparkling wines according to the Guardian's wine writer Fiona Beckett.

Fiona Beckett, who's recommending the wine as an alternative to champagne, says in her article on the Guardian's website, "I visited this Dorset estate at harvest time, and loved their rich, generous, toasty fizz, which you could easily mistake for champagne. Their rosé is lovely, too."

We contacted Rebecca Hansford, who owns and runs the estate near Bridport with her husband, and was delighted with the news, "2015 will be our tenth year since we planted our first vines. Sparkling wine takes so long to produce, so it's great that as soon as we've released the wines people are recognising that they are really good. It makes all that waiting and hard work and investment really worth it."

Rebecca told us that she is hoping to start a 'No Champagne Campaign' in Dorset, "We have some great sparkling wines in Dorset so at Christmas time particularly, we don't need to buy champagne, you can buy some really great fizz."
